Progress [Dec. 11th, 2006|09:15 pm]

The thing about Fluidity is it only works if you use it....novel, isn't it?

I was gone over Thanksgiving and didn't use it for about a week and then gone again Th-Sun of this week.

But, I have to tell you. I used the Intermediate DVD for the first time last week and I was flat out sore. And then the next time I used it, I increased the intensity on the Seat and Thigh DVD and I was weak most of the morning.

I'm not losing any weight (still need to get the eating under control) but I might be losing some inches. I think I am, but the whole measuring thing seems prone to error.

Anyway, I'm still quite happy. I like it because I can get up and just do it and 20-35 minutes later I'm done. As long as I'm home, I don't miss any days (currently going every other day).

Some Notes [Nov. 30th, 2006|09:02 am]

A few things of note.

I was gone from Wednesday of last week to late Monday night of this week for the Thanksgiving holiday and didn't take the Fluidity with me on the plane. ;) So, I've missed a week of workouts.

My weight is about the same, even after the mild gorgefest.

I didn't work out the past two days because my back has been killing me....which leads me to mention that I actually broke my back about a year and a half ago, and as long as its not already seized up in pain (like it has been the past few days from the travelling) the Fluidity is just fine for it.

So...back in the saddle again today, unless my back seizes up. So far....I love it. I'm in grad school with a full time job and insanely busy, but I can find 30 minutes three mornings a week. Even if my loss is slower, I'm still happy with any loss at all.

Days 2/3 [Nov. 17th, 2006|03:11 pm]

Yesterday I was a little sore after my first work out the day before. No big deal at all...just hamstrings and biceps a little tender.

TODAY...HOLY GOD. I did the Seat and Thigh this morning. Its only 21 minutes, but my legs have been weak all day. I tried to push myself a little bit, and apparently I did a good job. I did mostly intermediate, with some beginner modifications.

Seriously, I did the work out at about 8:00-8:30am and it was 11am before my legs started to feel normal again. It's 3pm and they still feel fatigued...but I'm not sore. I think its the stretching that you do after each move.

And once again, my heart rate was up the whole time.

I'm impressed.

Fluidity Day 1 [Nov. 15th, 2006|01:43 pm]

I got my Fluidity last Thursday, but because I was out of town this morning was the first time I was able to use it.

I watched the DVD the day before, and it looked easy. I guess I was kind of skeptical about the weight loss because it doesn't really look like you get any aerobic work out, but I hauled myself out of bed this morning to do the work out even though I wanted to sleep in. The good thing is...its only 30 minutes, so its not like I have to make a huge commitment.

I did the beginner DVD this morning, and I was really challenged. My core strenght is really weak, and I could tell in some of the ab and legwork. I've lost a lot of overall strength since I last worked out regualarly, even though the numbers hardly seem to move. Each DVD shows beginner, intermediate and advanced, and there were some moves the beginner was hard but others I could do the intermediate just fine.

My heart rate was definately steady and up. The thing I like the most about it is that it never felt unpleasant. I was challenged, but it wasn't grueling, and there is lots of opportunity to increase the intensity if I had so desired. I think I might be a little sore tomorrow, and I can't remember that happening in a long time.

I also like that I can do it at home 3 days a week for 30 minutes. There is no hauling myself to the gym for 2 hours everyday and having to deal with showering, hair, makeup, multiple sets of clothes, etc. It seems like something I can stick with.

As far as my diet goes, I'm just trying to cut down on refined sugar as much as possible while still staying sane and focusing on whole fruits and vegetables as the main staples of my diet.

I'll keep you posted. ;)

My Fluidity arrived today, exactly a week after I ordered it.

Unfortunately, I'm out of town so I won't be able to use it until tomorrow or Sunday.

I'm so excited to try it.

My Fluidity shipped today. I ordered it last Thursday.

Its supposed to be here on the 9th. I wonder how fast I would have gotten it if I had paid the $10 for express shipping.

Getting Started [Nov. 5th, 2006|08:35 am]

miz_kitty
After about a week of debating, I finally broke down and placed my order on Thursday, Nov. 2.

Its kind of weird how the website doesn't tell you how much shipping is. It's $40, which I don't think is bad given the apparent size of the damn thing. Of course, if you return it, thats another $40, but I was okay with that risk.

I ordered the Seat and Thigh DVD too. It didn't look like you could order it at a later date, so I just went ahead and did it.

The website recommends two 30 min work outs a week, but I think I'll do one MWF. I'll probably do the beginners DVD MF and Seat and Thigh Wed.

As far as the payments route goes, if you decide to go that way, its every 30 days from the date you ordered for four additional months.

Today is Saturday and so far there hasn't been a tracking number issued. They offer priority processing for $10, but I declined because I heard people were getting it fairly fast anyway.
